Religious Education
At our Catholic school, Religious Education is central to our mission and identity. It’s more than a subject; it’s a journey of faith, discovery, and personal growth. We strive for excellence in everything we do, guided by Gospel values and the example of Christ. Our department places these values at the heart of our teaching, creating a respectful and inclusive environment where every pupil is supported to fulfil their God-given potential.
We are passionate about nurturing the spiritual life of each pupil. Our curriculum is thoughtfully sequenced to help pupils deepen their faith and explore life’s big questions; about truth, meaning, and belief.
Our curriculum is broad and inclusive, reflecting both our Catholic ethos and the diversity of our school community. Pupils study Roman Catholic Christianity in depth, alongside other world religions including Islam, Judaism and Hinduism, as well as secular worldviews.
Through open discussion and respectful dialogue, we help every pupil feel welcome, valued, and empowered to understand the beliefs and values that shape our world.
Below you will find our RE knowledge organisers. At KS3, pupils study six branches of RE, one per half term, following the Religious Education Directory (RED) directed by the Bishops. At GCSE, pupils are examined on three components of the course, with each component made up of two parts, clearly shown and titled within each knowledge organiser. The information has been carefully condensed and supported with images to guide and enrich pupils’ RE learning journey.
